His identity is unknown so his character, life circumstances and so on, are entirely fictional. What is known is that such an individual did come to Great Yarmouth during 1900, a deal was done, Caister Road bridge was built and the line to Lowestoft was opened on time, in 1903. This short story fictionalises the true story of the deal and the bridge.
